Six bounded defensive fixes:
- Payment-URI amount is now strictly validated (reject NaN/inf/sign/garbage,
<=8 decimals, 0..21,000,000) at parse time, so a crafted QR/URI can't inject a
bogus amount into the Send form. The z_sendmany call the user confirms is
unchanged; this is input validation only.
- export-all-keys filename is sanitized (basename-only, no traversal) via a
shared util::sanitizeExportFilename (factored out of the CSV export dialog).
- Chat append()/upsert() wrap the strict serialize in try/catch so a malformed
(invalid-UTF-8, attacker-influenceable) body is skipped, not crashed on —
matching appendBatch's existing drop behavior.
- http_download (used by the updaters + pool stats) restricts transfers AND
redirects to HTTPS and bounds the download path's redirects, so a redirect
can't downgrade to http:// or another scheme.
- The default DRGX.conf (rpcuser/rpcpassword) is written 0600 from the start via
writeFileAtomically, closing the brief world-readable ofstream+chmod window.
- Auto-lock is suppressed only for SOLO mining (needs the wallet), not pool
mining (pays an external address), which was holding the wallet open forever.

On a first run or after an upgrade, Windows release builds wrote the
bundled Sapling params, asmap, node and miner (about 88 MB) in
App::init, before the first frame: 0.5-3 s of frozen blank window, 5-30 s
on a slow disk or under antivirus. Zip, AppImage and .app builds copied
the bundled files into the daemon dir and hashed the 51.5 MB of params on
the UI thread at the first node start, a 0.3-1.5 s freeze in the wizard
or the connect loop.
A stat-only check at startup decides whether anything is missing, stale
or unverified; a normal launch starts no thread and shows nothing.
Otherwise one background job extracts (Windows) or copies (Linux, macOS)
the files, then verifies the params once:
- The first frame paints at once. If the job takes longer than 0.4 s, a
chip at the bottom shows "Preparing wallet files... N%", then
"Verifying wallet files...".
- A node start on the UI thread while the job runs is deferred and
replayed when it ends (never into a bootstrap download, a restart or a
live connection); worker threads wait, and give up on quit. After an
upgrade that ships a new miner, the node starts after the miner is
written instead of before. Pool-miner starts and the miner version
check wait too, so the old miner is never run or reported while it is
being replaced.
- Each file goes to "<name>.partial", is flushed and renamed into place
under one lock shared with the daemon start, the bundled-node
reinstall and the miner extraction, and the job stops between 4 MB
chunks at shutdown. An interrupted write used to leave a truncated
binary that was trusted forever; a leftover .partial is now removed.
Other behaviour changes:
- Linux and macOS full-node builds copy the bundled node files (about
77 MB) into the daemon dir at first launch, even if the wallet ends up
on an external node; before, this happened at the first embedded start.
- Lite no longer writes the 53 MB of params and asmap it never reads.
- A disk-full or permission failure that leaves the node files unusable
shows a warning; a miner blocked by antivirus alone does not.
- A corrupt or truncated param in a zip, AppImage or .app install is
replaced from the bundle and verified again instead of trusted forever.
- Reinstalling the bundled node holds off the connect loop and a deferred
start for its whole run (either could launch the old binary while the
new one was written), and is refused while another restart is running.

Replace the wallet's stale hardcoded -addnode list (node. + node1-4.dragonx.is — a drifted
subset with a bogus bare 'node.') with the daemon's authoritative vSeeds: seed.dragonx.is (a
round-robin A record over the live seed set, so it self-updates without a wallet release) plus
node1/node5 as static fallbacks. Applied in both seeding sites: the launch args
(embedded_daemon.cpp) and the generated DRAGONX.conf (connection.cpp).
Kept (not deleted) — pre-1.3.0 daemons had broken peer discovery and rely on these -addnode
entries to find peers at all; plain hostname resolution works on every daemon version.

F8 (security). Two related fixes to how the wallet decides whether an RPC target is
safe to send Basic-auth credentials to:
- isLocalHost() was matching any host that merely *starts* "127." via
rfind("127.",0)==0, so "127.evil.com" (and "127.0.0.1.attacker", "127.300.0.1",
"1270.0.0.1") were misclassified as loopback and treated as local. It now uses a
strict isExactIPv4Loopback() parser: exactly four 0-255 dot-separated octets with
the first == 127. localhost / ::1 / [::1] handling is unchanged.
- A remote rpchost over plain HTTP (no rpctls=1) previously only produced a
dismissible warning and then sent rpcuser:rpcpassword in cleartext, where a
local-network MITM could capture them. tryConnect() now REFUSES that connection
(clear status line + one-time notification, no creds sent) unless the user opts in
explicitly with rpcallowplaintext=1 in DRAGONX.conf (new
ConnectionConfig::allow_plaintext_remote, parsed in parseConfFile; policy in the
new allowsPlaintextRemote()). Local/embedded daemons and rpctls=1 remotes are
unaffected.
BREAKING: a wallet configured for remote plaintext RPC will stop connecting until
rpcallowplaintext=1 (or rpctls=1) is added to DRAGONX.conf. Must be called out in the
release notes. The Settings-toggle UI is deferred (the conf-key opt-in is the recovery
path; see docs/daemon-startup-hardening.md).
Adds testIsLocalHost and testAllowsPlaintextRemote to test_phase4.cpp; one i18n key
(English) added to i18n.cpp.

Three verified daemon-startup edge-case fixes centered on the config/params
filesystem path:
- F7: new non-throwing Platform::ensureDirectory(dir, outError) with one
consistent "Cannot create <dir>: <reason>. Check permissions / free space."
message. Replaces the unchecked/throwing create_directories sites at main.cpp
(pre-init: log + Windows MessageBox + return 1), connection.cpp's
autoDetectConfig (was the *throwing* overload -- could raise an uncaught
filesystem_error through its callers; now sets the new
ConnectionConfig::dir_error), and both app.cpp daemon-dir sites (surface via
daemon_status_ + return false). The primary connect path (app_network.cpp)
checks dir_error and shows it instead of mislabelling it "waiting for config".
embedded_resources.cpp already checked its error_code, so it is left as-is.
- F6: verifySaplingParams() now hash-verifies each param against its pinned
canonical SHA-256 (source of truth: scripts/build-lite-backend-artifact.sh)
instead of only checking existence, so a truncated / corrupt-but-present param
is rejected up front rather than failing later on a shielded operation. A
<params_dir>/.sapling_verified marker keyed on size:mtime avoids re-hashing
~48MB on every startup. Logic extracted to the injectable, unit-testable
verifySaplingParamsIn(dir, digests); reuses util::sha256Hex (no new hash impl).
- F5: startEmbeddedDaemon() now checks extractEmbeddedResources()'s return and
the previously-dropped copy_file error_code in the daemon-binary fallback loop,
aborting with a clear status (sb_daemon_extract_failed / sb_daemon_files_failed)
instead of failing opaquely at spawn. An absent source file stays non-fatal.
Adds testPlatformEnsureDirectory and testVerifySaplingParams to test_phase4.cpp.
i18n keys added to i18n.cpp (English source of truth); the res/lang/*.json
back-fill via add_missing_translations.py is deferred to a single run at the end
of the batch. Progress tracked in docs/daemon-startup-hardening.md.

- rpc_client: wipe the plaintext "user:password" temporary with sodium_memzero after
base64-encoding it into the auth header (std::string doesn't zero its buffer on
destruction).
- connection: the auto-generated DRAGONX.conf holds rpcuser/rpcpassword in plaintext but
was written with the default umask (often world-readable 0644). Restrict it to owner
read/write after creation so another local user can't read the credentials.
- app: copying a seed phrase / private key to the clipboard now arms an auto-clear —
App::copySecretToClipboard() copies the secret and, after 45s, wipes the clipboard IF it
still holds that secret (compared via a stored hash, never the plaintext). Wired into the
lite first-run wizard's seed Copy and the Settings export-secret Copy, with a
"clipboard auto-clears in 45s" notice. pumpSecretClipboardClear() runs each frame.
